Hi. I’m Brendan McPhillips and Welcome to my Website!

Personal Info.

I’m 41 and have been happily married to Janet for 14 years. We have two terrific daughters Jessica, 12, and Julia, 8. We live in Philadelphia, PA where I was born and raised. My full-time occupation is as an analyst at a commercial mortgage banking company. In my spare time I like to play tennis and golf, watch movies and TV (sometimes too much) but my long-time interest has been in…

Spiritual Background

…spirituality and all things related. For over 20 years I have been interested in and studying what I call meaning-of-life type stuff; not necessarily religion but general spirituality. I guess that puts me in the category of “spiritual but not religious”. I was raised Catholic and went to twelve years of Catholic school but I never really understood much about Christianity until I stepped away from it and learned some spiritual basics. I liken the difference between general spirituality and organized religion as the difference between general science (chemistry, biology, physiology) and organized medicine. Once you know the fundamentals of chemistry, biology and physiology you can understand the basics of any branch of medicine. Similarly with an understanding of Spirituality 101 you can intuit the basic meaning and teachings of all the major religions. I still have a long way to go on the never-ending spiritual path but I’ve learned a little bit along the way so far and I’m enjoying every step!

Website’s Purpose

Through this website I would like to convey some of what I’ve learned about spirituality with an emphasis on applying it in everyday life. You might call it Practical Spirituality. I want to help you understand who you are and why you’re here with the goal of fulfilling the Divine Plan and, in turn, enriching your life. I’ll try to point out some spiritual insights in “everyday” things like movies, quotes, phrases and books. I’ll attempt to explain the fundamental meaning behind the precepts and teachings of various religions always with a focus on how you can apply them toward “bringing heaven to earth”.

I hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you think by emailing me through my Contact page.

Thank you!

Brendan :)
